The many events and programs run by the council could not opperate without an army of volunteers. Whether you are a high school student looking for volunteer hours for the provincial community service requirement, a parent with a child in one of our programs, or just a civic-minded community member, there are opportunities for you.
Due to some recent departures, the Fisher Park Community Recreation Council (FPCRC) is urgently looking for new board members.
The FPCRC believes in the importance of grassroots development and is committed to making sure every child in the neighbourhood has the chance to participate in sport.
Every year hundreds of kids and adults in the neighbourhood participate in the following FPCRC supported activities:
Fisher Park Soccer Program
Fisher Park Softball/T-ball program
Victoria Day Fireworks/BBQ
Fisher Park Flag Rugby
Learn to Skate
Hockey Development
Annual Fisher Park Craft Show
Winter Carnival
The success of these programs/events is due to a strong and committed group of volunteer board members.
FPCRC meets bi-monthly for one hour at Fisher Park School (no meetings during the summer months), conducts much of its business via email between meetings, and is supported by a fantastic administrative group that keeps programming running smoothly.
If you or your child has ever participated in one of FPCRC’s programs, consider joining the council to ensure we can continue to offer these programs to the next generation of Fisher Park kids. Please email fisherparksport for more information about the next council meeting.
